about me

Hi, my name is Andrea Kaye Wagner and I’m a freelance arist out of Alexandria, MN. I attended Alexandria Technical College where I majored in Communication Art & Design originally planning to be a portrait painter. Needless to say, I fell in love with the Apple computer and the Adobe Creative Suite it was paired with. I enjoy doing graphic design because it’s challenging, yet rewarding. Working on brand identity is a real favorite because you start from square one, nothing, and build an entire brand including a logo, business cards, advertising and web graphics. I still enjoy painting portraits as it’s relaxing and also rewarding. I look forward to taking any project and making it my own while meeting the needs of the customer.

Attending and graduating from Alexandria Technical College was one of the greatest experiences in my life thus far. Under the guidance of great instructors such as Craig Bjerke, Myron Sahlberg and Paul Johnson, I not only learned the required curriculum, but valuable life lessons as well. Although it was a tough course to get through if you were not committed to learning, it was well worth while; and I feel I came out of there with more knowledge and experience than an AAS would lead you to believe.

This fall (2010) I will be heading up to Concordia to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in studio art. It will be an interesting experience to head back to school, but I believe it will be worthwhile. I look forward to working on some freelance projects while I attend — and hopefully I will finally spend some time in the studio drawing and painting!
